Eva M. Harshbarger, 97, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 8:53 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2023 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL with Rev. Eric Quinney-Burnard officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Eva was born on November 12, 1925 in Clinton, IL, the daughter of Albert J. and Zella Ibbotson Knackmuhs. She married Herschel Leon Harshbarger on November 30, 1946 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1989.

Survivors include her daughters: Donna (Claus) Schultz and Jean (Doug) Myers both of Arcola, 5 grandchildren: Ryan, Cory and Chad Schultz, Nick Poulos and Dana Robeck and 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded by her parents, brothers: Roy, Virgil and Clyde Knackmuhs and sisters: Bernadine McKinney, Lucille Laughlin and Alberta Knackmuhs.

Eva was a farm wife and also worked at Illinois Foundation Seed in Tolono, IL. She was a member of the Lake Fork Church and the Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of the James Reeder American Legion Post #770 Ladies Auxiliary.

Eva was an avid card player and was a member of the Ladies Card Club. She enjoyed bowling, had a flair for baking delicious cookies and was an excellent cook known for her famous ham gravy. Eva also enjoyed playing bingo and Old Maid.

Memorials are suggested to the Tuscola Health Care Activity Fund or to the Lake Fork Church.
