Knights Senior Charley Condill Signs to Millikin University for both Volleyball and Softball

Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School is proud to announce that senior softball and volleyball student-athlete Charley Condill will be committing to continue her athletic participation on the intercollegiate level at Millikin University.

Located in Decatur, Illinois, Millikin is a member school of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) and competes at the NCAA Division III level. The softball program is led by co-head coaches Whitney Sowers and Katie Tenboer. The Big Blue finished the 2022 softball season with a 39-9 record. The volleyball program is led by Head Coach Debbie Kiick. Coach Kiick is in her 22nd season as the Head Coach of the Millikin Volleyball program. Kiick is Millikin’s all-time winningest volleyball coach with a career record of 513-271. The Big Blue finished the 2022 volleyball season with a 23-11 record.

Heading into her senior softball season, Charley has been a three-year varsity letter winner for the Knights playing catcher.  She was an instrumental part of the Knights 2021 and 2022 LPC Conference Championship Teams, the 2019 and 2021 IHSA Class A Regional Championship Teams, the 2021 IHSA Sectional Championship Team, the 2021 IHSA Super Sectional Championship Team, and the 2021 IHSA State Finals 4th place team. Charley has also been a 4 year varsity letter winner in volleyball and was a significant part of the Knights 2022 LPC Conference and Regional championship team.

Charley’s personal softball accolades include: two time LPC All-Conference First Team selection, News-Gazette Second Team All-Area as a sophomore, News-Gazette All-Area Honorable Mention as a junior, Herald and Review All-Area Second Team as a junior, Second Team ISCA All-State Team as a sophomore, and Third Team ISCA All-State as a Junior.  Charley’s personal volleyball accolades include: News-Gazette All-Area Honorable Mention as a sophomore and junior, LPC Second Team as a sophomore, LPC All-Conference First Team as a  junior and senior, Herald and Review First Team All-Area as a junior and senior, News-Gazette All-Area First Team as a senior, News-Gazette All-State 50 special mention as a senior, and WCIA athlete of the week.

Charley has been a multi-sport athlete throughout her high school career and has also earned varsity letters in basketball and cross-country, She was named to the LPC All-Conference Basketball Second team after her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. Charley also earned LPC All-Conference recognition and News-Gazette All-Area Honorable Mention as a sophomore in cross-country.  In addition to her athletic accomplishments,  Charley has been a high honor roll student each of her four years at ALAH, is Vice President of the National Honor Society, has served as a tutor in the Math and Writing Center, has been her class secretary all four years, is a freshman mentor, an FCA leader,  an Illinois State Scholar, and was named to the IHSA All-State Academic Honorable Mention Team this year.

Charley is the daughter of Mac and Ginny Condill and plans to major in art therapy at Millikin.

In honor of Charley’s accomplishments, Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School held a reception on March 10th in the gymnasium at Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School.
