Three Fire Departments Respond to Atwood Fire Call

Fire departments from Atwood, Arthur and Hammond responded to a fire at a large storage building owned by Tom Tewell at approximately 5:15 p.m. Friday evening. Tewell resides at 201 South Indiana St., Atwood. The building is located to the north of his home. Electricity was out to some homes in the area for approximately 2 hours due to the fire.

Atwood Police Chief Rob Bross, Wayne Powell, Atwood part-time officer, and a Piatt County Deputy were also on the scene. Chief Bross would like to thank the good Samaritan who purchased three cases of water at Casey’s for fire personnel.

Cause of the fire and estimate of damage were not available at press time.
