Rosetta Irene Weaver

Rosetta Irene Weaver, 86, of Lovington, passed away 11:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Keller Cemetery, Lovington. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. McMullin-Young Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.

Rosetta was born on December 3, 1936, in Garrett; the daughter of Earnest and Mazie (Barnes) Auten. She married Gearld “Skinny” Weaver; he preceded her in death in 1984. Rosetta enjoyed traveling and bingo. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys.

She is survived by her partner of 30 years, Fred Cohoon of Ashmore; son, Michael Weaver of Sullivan; daughters, Kathy (Gary) Click of Lovington, Carol (Bill Shain) Grens of Sullivan, Loretta (John) Maldaner of Hickory, KY, and Tina Weaver of Charleston.

Rosetta is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother and 1 sister.
