DAR/SAR Good Citizen Award Announced

DAR/SAR WINNERS. Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond announced the winners of the DAR/SAR Good Citizen Award. Pictured are this year’s recipients Kaylee Schrock and Brady Moore. Outstanding citizens of the senior class are chosen by the faculty based on their dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. They will be honored along with their families at a luncheon on February 11, 2023.

The Stephen A. Douglas Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution would like to announce this year’s selection of Good Citizens.

Each year since 1937 the Stephen A. Douglas Chapter DAR has recognized the outstanding high school senior of each of our county’s schools who most closely represents the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

The DAR Good Citizen Program reflects two of the missions of the National Society which are education and patriotism.

Selected for the DAR Good Citizen Award are Eadie Budd from Arcola, Brady Moore from Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond, Kaylin Williams from Shiloh, Brogan Rennert from Tuscola, and Kyleigh Price from Villa Grove.

The Piankeshaw Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution recognizes the SAR Good Citizen Award. Selected this year are Morgan Doud from Arcola, Kaylee Schrock from Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond, Tyler Hutchinson from Shiloh, Grant Kauffman from Tuscola, and Luke Zimmerman from Villa Grove.

Schrock is the daughter of Matt and Jennifer Schrock and Moore is the son of Jenny Moore and Jake Moore.

The DAR/SAR Good Citizens, families, and friends will be honored February 11, 2023, at a luncheon at the Villa Grove Methodist Church.
