Mt. Zion homecoming starts this week

The Mt. Zion high school homecoming week is back this week September 19 through the 24. This year’s homecoming theme is Where Dreams Come True based off of Disney.

Mt. Zion announced its Homecoming Court last week. The homecoming court will be freshman Priscilla Poole and Jacob Harvey. Sophomores will be Tayetum Flanigan and Tristan Wirey. Juniors are Kolbi Allen and Makobi Adams.

The senior and queen nominees are: Allison Bradford and Gabe Vanderlaan, Audrey Bradford and Genti Veliu, McKenna Crawford and Weston Grohne and Tia Veale and Kyle Hensley.

Monday, September 19, was Sleeping Beauty Day. Students were encouraged to dress in pajamas.

Tuesday, September 20 was Pirates of the Carribean Day. Students were encouraged to dress as a pirate .

Today, Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Students are encouraged to dress twins.

Thursday, September 22, is Magical Kingdom Day. Students are encouraged to dress like any character in the Disney universe. The homecoming parade is also Thursday starting at 5 p.m.

Friday, September 23, is class color day. Freshman colors are white, sophomores gray, juniors red and seniors black. All dress up days students are to follow dress codes and policy.

Events on Friday include an assembly from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. that will be held in the high school big gym.

A variety of games will be played and the homecoming king and queen will be announced. The homecoming football game is at 7 p.m. as the Braves take on Lincoln.

On Saturday, September 24, the dance will be held in the Mt. Zion High School’s Fieldhouse from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

No heeled shoes will be allowed to the dance.

The coronation will be held at 9:30 p.m.
