CGB Cross Country Competes at 45th Annual Tuscola Classic

The Cerro Gordo Bement cross country team ran in the 45th Annual Tuscola Classic cross country meet held at Wimple Park on Saturday, September 17.

Gabby Block and Katherine ran for the Lady Broncos with Gabby earning a medal for 58th place with a time of 24:32.68. Katherine came in at 117th with a time of 31:31.78. There were 135 runners in the girls’ race.

Will Fuson was the first Bronco to cross the finish line for the boys coming in at 9th with a time of 17:08.37. This place earned him a trophy for a top 25 finish and he was also the Freshman Champion as he was the first freshman to finish. Other medalists for the boys were Dylan Howell, 14th in 17:34.0 and Evan Fogerson , 68th in 19:37.72. John Paul Brewer just missed a medal at 77th with his time of 19:57.55 and Tyce Alumbaugh rounded out the CGB scorers at 103rd with a time of 21:01.69. The boys’ team finished in 10th place in the team standings.

Other Broncos running in the boys’ race and their times were: Cole Stoeger, 22:30.73; Camren Brown, 23:02.84; John Freese, 23:35.02; Brenden Puckett, 23:47.43 and Ian Hawk, 24:36.82.

The cross country teams have a home meet on September 20 and will compete in the annual Lincoln Prairie Conference meet on October 1 at Crowder Park in Bethany.
