MTZ School Board approves new Co-Curriculum Rules and Regulations Guide

The Mt. Zion School Board met on July 19 and approved the second reading of the 2022-2023 Co-Curriculum Rules and Regulations Guide.
Changes included were the first offense for Tobacco Related Misconduct and Drug, Alcohol or Criminal Misconduct.
For a first offense when it comes to Tobacco Related Misconduct, a student can be suspended from any competition or school event for 25 percent of the scheduled dates or 12.5 percent with an assembly.
For a first offense when it comes to Drug, Alcohol or Criminal Misconduct, a student can be suspended from any completion or school event for 50 percent of the scheduled dates or 25 percent with an assessment.
Another highlight of the changes included where it will be budgeted at the minime for each teacher to have $200 towards professional development.
Other items approved by the school board were:
-The first reading of the 2022-2023 Faculty Handbook.
-The first reading of the 2022-2023 Educational Support Personnel Handbook.
-A Group Health Insurance Plan Renewal.
The next Mt. Zion School Board meeting will be held on August 9 at 6:30 p.m.
