LAKE FORK CHURCH MICRO PANTRY. Lake Fork Church Moderator Cindy Cordts, and her grandson Landon Bailliez are proud to display the church’s Micro Pantry to be dedicated on August 7 during special anniversary services. The pantry will not be in service until after the dedication.
Lake Fork United Church of Christ, north of Atwood, will be dedicating their new Micro Pantry at the anniversary of the church on Sunday, August 7. This is a special day for the church as they celebrate 180 years as a congregation in the Atwood community.
Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. and include special music, speaker Molly Carlson, Illinois Conference Pastor, and the dedication of the Micro Pantry. The church members have a challenge to bring 180 items for the pantry on or before the day of the dedication.
The Micro Pantry will contain smaller quantities of food, cleaning products and personal hygiene items. This is not meant to provide weekly needs of a family, but items that can be used on an emergency basis. The congregation is beginning this local mission project to fill the needs of community members. The Micro Pantry will be located on the north side of the church and items are free to those in need. Items will not be available until the day of the anniversary celebration.
After the service and dedication, members and guests will enjoy old time games, followed by a potluck. The community is invited to join in these special services.
