The Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School (ALAH) is hoping to “score” big in looking for corporate sponsors to help facilitate new scoreboards for the high school. Letters were mailed the end of April to find corporate sponsors for scoreboards in the high school west gymnasium and Wilson Field.

The scoreboard in the west high school gym was installed in 1993-94 when the new gym was added to the school. The scoreboard at Wilson Field was installed in 1970’s.

The letter recently mailed by Steffanie Seegmiller, Principal, and Nathan Seal, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, stated that scoreboards have changed drastically over the last few years from minimal upgrades to high pixel video boards. The goal of the school is to replace both scoreboards in the high school west gym and the scoreboard on Wilson Field, along with the equipment installation to support these new boards.

Each school year, Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School hosts approximately 75 events in the west gym including volleyball matches, girls & boys basketball games, rec sports, plus various events that the community attends. For example, this includes: Veterans Day program, Honors Night, baccalaureate, etc.; approximately 35 events are held at Wilson Field including football, games, soccer matches, track meets, JFL games, graduation and the daily use by the community of the track, in addition to the faculty and students who use them each day.

Advertising of the corporate sponsors on the scoreboards will put your name in front of the public each time they visit the gym or football field. Coach Seal said that most of the districts in this area have newer scoreboards. Seal wants the people of Arthur District #305 to be proud of the equipment when they come to the school. Besides, Seal said the scoreboard in the west gym doesn’t work all the time, which is embarrassing during a game.

Becoming a corporate sponsor requires a $3,000 pledge each year for the next three years (36 months) from contract date. Length of agreement is from August 1, 2022 to July 31, 2025.

A Corporate Sponsorship Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15 at 1 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. There will be a preview of the scoreboards and those attending will be able to become a corporate sponsor for new scoreboards for ALAH High School.

The advantage of becoming a corporate sponsor is having your business name in “lights” for all to see. You will also be helping the sports program and the student body.

If you are unable to attend the meeting on June 15, but are interested in becoming a corporate sponsor, please contact Nathan Seal at the ALAH High School office.
