12U Lady Braves Travel Team Earned Champion Title at the Fayette County Freedom Tourney in Vandalia

The 12U Lady Braves Travel Softball Team went 3-0 in a fast one-day tournament in Vandalia this past weekend. The weekend was full of awesome pitching and a ton of hits from the Lady Braves. Tatum Gray was the starting pitcher for Game 1 and Reegan Reatherford was starting pitcher for Game 2. Both pitchers threw no-hitters, securing a 9-0 victory in Game 1 against Staunton, and a 15-0 victory for Game 2 against Reapers.

Lady Braves faced Fayette County Freedom in the Championship game late Sunday night. Braves put up six runs in the fourth. Tatum Gray was in the pitcher’s circle and surrendered only one run on one hit over four innings. Gray struck out eight and walked only one.

Lady Braves had a total of 27 hits for the weekend. Leading in hits for the team were Tatum Gray with 5; Macy Hittmeier with 4; and Riley Boyer, Grace Brown and Bella Rhoades, with 3 hits each. Lyla Swartz led the team in RBIs with 6 for the weekend.

The 12U Mt. Zion Lady Braves Travel team is coached by Brian Rhoades, Guy Brown, Mary Swartz & Eric Gray. Players include Riley Boyer, Grace Brown, Maddie Callaway, Tatum Gray, McKenna Hamrick, Macy Hittmeier, Taylor Kraft, Emery Krieger, Sophie Mason, Reegan Reatherford, Bella Rhoades, Lyla Swartz, and Emma Weaver.

The 12U Lady Braves head to Mapleton, IL this weekend for their next tournament.
