Peggy Hubbard to be Guest Speaker at Atwood American Legion Memorial Day Services

Peggy Hubbard, Navy Veteran, former police officer and retired IRS Analyst, will be guest speaker at the American Legion James Reeder Post #770 Memorial Day Services on Monday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Mackville Cemetery.

Peggy Hubbard, Navy Veteran, former police officer and retired IRS Analyst, will be guest speaker at the American Legion James Reeder Post #770 Memorial Day Services on Monday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Mackville Cemetery.

Peggy was born in 1964 in St. Louis and raised by a single mother and maternal grandparents. In 1984 she enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served until 1997. She attended bootcamp at Naval Air Station in Orlando, FL. and served on board various ships and the Naval Reserves.

Since then, she has worked for the St. Louis County Police Department as a court officer; later hired by the IRS as an analyst for 15 years. She also worked as a police officer once more serving Southern Illinois communities.

Peggy is currently running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Illinois. She is on the ballot in the Republican primary on June 28.

Posting of colors will be done by the American Legion James Reeder Post #770 color guard.

Patriotic music will be presented by Bill & Mitch Fleming and Joe Wolfe. Pastor Micheal Drake will give the opening prayer and benediction.

Reading of the roster for Lake Fork and Mackville Cemeteries will be done by Legion Commander Ken Caraway and Donald Swartz.

The salute will be conducted by Post #770 Firing Squad with David Fleming playing taps.

Some chairs will be provided; however, you are welcome to bring your own lawn chair.

    Peggy Hubbard is an amazing woman who I wholeheartedly support. I will be voting for Peggy Hubbard in the Republican primary election coming up on June 28th for Senator from Illinois.
