Cerro Gordo Bement Middle School Bulldogs Finish 2022 Track Season at IESA State Meet

The CGB middle school track and field teams wrapped up their 2022 season at the IESA State Track and Field Meet in East Peoria this past weekend.

Eighth grader Will Fuson brought home two State medals earning second in the boys 1600 meter run (2A 8th grade) with a time of 4:57.06, a personal record and place 6th in boys 800 meter run (2A 8th grade) with a time of 2:15.34, also a personal record. Heading into the state meet, Will was sectional and conference champion and was undefeated all season long in the 800 and 1600 meter runs.

Kaydon Waterhouse also earned a medal taking eighth in the eighth grade discus with a personal best toss of 127’ 6”.

Others competing at State were sixth grader Ethan Long who jumped 15’ 6” in the seventh grade long jump and Claire Loftus who threw the shot put 23’ 3” for the seventh grade girls.

The CGB team had a very successful first season as a co-op and look forward to future success together.
