ALAH Knights Boys Track Repeats At LPC Championship
The ALAH Knights boys track and field team repeated as LPC Conference Meet Champions at the second annual conference meet on Monday, May 9. They won the first ever meet championship last year and took the title again this season at Cerro Gordo. The ALAH Knights Boys T & F team again dominated their conference rivals while competing somewhat short handed. Illness kept a couple key scorers home but other Knights stepped up and m produced scoring efforts to fill the void. The men totaled 117 points to easily outdistance Arcola (82) and Villa Grove (77) to once again bring the big trophy back to ALAH.
The total team effort wad again led by Senior standout Max Allen. He sprints to personal bests in both the 100(11.16) and 200(22.22/School Record) and a solid 400(52.88) winning all three races in dominant fashion. Brother Mason Allen also scores 5th place points in the 400(56.34).
Once again the potent distance crew piles up points. Jacob Duzan wins his 1st conference title in the 800 (2:09.86) winning by over 3 seconds. Lyle Adcock scores valuable 3rd place points in 2:14.81. Jace Green wins the 1600 handily in 4:47.99. Jake Adcock runs a very close 2nd in the 3200 (10:46.88). The 4×800 Relay team of Lyle Adcock, Keaton Korando, Duzan and Green win the championship in 9:08.24.
Ryan Appleby scores points in his first LPC Meet clearing the 110 hurdles placing 6th(20.68). The weightmen gathered valuable points. Austin Abercrombie (122’2/3rd) and Tanner Beckmier (117’/5th) both tally in the Discus while Abercrombie (41’9.75/2nd) and Jacob Tighe (38’PR/4th) ring the bell in the Shot Put.
All three sprint relays nail top 3 finishes. The 4×100 team of Mason Allen, Garrett Casteel, Trey Waldrip, and Carter Pratt finish 3rd. The 4×200 group of Pratt, Casteel, Korando, and Gavin Mechling score 3rd as well. The 4×400 foursome of Korando, Lyle Adcock, Duzan, and Green speed to a 2nd place finish to cap the days scoring efforts.

The men’s squad travels to the Shelby Open on Friday May 13th in preparation for IHSA Sectional at Tuscola Wednesday, May 18 at 4pm.
