ALAH JH Boys Track Teams Finish 2022 Home Track Season With Sweep
Knights’ eighth grader Jackson Lebeter gets ready to let the discus fly in the home meet with Paris Mayo and Sullivan on May 10. Jackson’s best toss was 64’ 8” and a season’s best for him.
The Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Jr. High boys track teams held their last home meet of the 2022 season on Tuesday, May 10. Paris Mayo and Sullivan were the Knights’ opponents in the triangular meet. Both the seventh and eighth grade teams took first place in the team standings.
In the seventh grade competition Tyler Lisanby won the long jump, Joshua Taylor, the discus and Brennon Hutson the 400 meters. The boys also had two relay winners, the 4 X 1 team of Faemus Davison, Anden Berry, Dylan Ingersoll and Taylor and the 4 X 4 foursome of Hutson, Lisanby, Preston Gingerich and Owen Herring.
Payton Warrior was a double winner in the eighth grade taking firsts in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Easton Frederick won the 110 meter hurdles and the eighth grade swept the relays. Taking first in the 4 X 2 relay were Justin Schrock, Frederick, Daylon Doggett and Warrior. The foursome of Ryker Beckmier, Cash Hale, Trey Strode and Dana Soard won the 4 X 1 relay and Frederick, Schrock, Hale and Warrior completed the sweep by winning the 4 X 4 relay.
The boys were to compete in the Class 3A IESA Sectional on Saturday, May 14 at Shelbyville with the hopes of advancing some athletes to the IESA State Meet on May 20 and 21 in East Peoria.
