Broncos take lead in fifth inning to defeat the Blue Ridge Knights

The CGB Broncos snatched the lead late in the game in an 11-5 victory over Blue Ridge Knights on Wednesday, May 5 at home in Bement.

The game was tied at three with the Broncos batting in the bottom of the fifth when Tyson Moore doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Cerro Gordo-Bement earned the victory despite allowing Blue Ridge to score three runs in the third inning. The Knights big inning was driven by singles by Wesley Jones, Zach Lewis, and Wyatt Cole.

Drew Cripe took the win for CGB lasting six innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out 12. Ryan Dick threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Dylan Kelley took the loss for Blue Ridge.

The Broncos collected 12 hits on the day. Moore, Xander Hutchcraft, and Cripe each collected two hits to lead the team.
