Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated the first full week of May each year. The Atwood American Legion Auxiliary to James Reeder Post #770, didn’t let the event go by without letting the A-H Grade School/Jr. High teachers know they are appreciated.

Tuesday, May 3, two members of the auxiliary, Dorothy Clough and President Jessie Yoder, visited the Teacher’s Lounge with arm loads of tasty treats for the teachers to enjoy.

According to the internet, in 1953 Roosevelt was successful in convincing lawmakers to proclaim the first National Teachers Appreciation Day to be celebrated May 7. Since then it has been changed to the entire week.

Thank you to our teachers for their untiring efforts to give our children a quality education.
