MTZ Intermediate hosted 40th annual Contig Tournament

The Mt. Zion Intermediate School hosted the 40th annual Contig tournament last Friday morning.

Contig is a low-prep math game played with dice and a simple game board. It teaches the math concepts of simple operations, the order of operations, and provides mental math practice.

In the fourth grade division, Emerson Moody from Clinton finished in third-place. Carter Schniepp from Dennis Lab finished in second place. St. John Lutherans’ Jack Thompson and Gunnert Bartels tied for first-place.

In fifth grade, Mt. Zion’s Ellie Jones finished in third place. Addison Marion from Meridian Elementary finished in second place. Max Burns from Argenta-Oreana finished in first place.

In sixth grade, Bentley Von Behren from Deland-Weldon finished in third place. Ziyad Fiad finished in second place from Warrensburg-Latham. Elliet Steele from Montessori Academy of Peace finished in first place.
