MTZ Track and Field compiles 16 top-20 finishes at Indoor State

The Mt. Zion Track and Field program compiled 17 top-20n finishes at the Illinois Indoor State Championship Meet at Illinois Wesleyan University.
On the boys side, Christian Keyhea secured a first-place finish after running a personal-record time of 6.9 seconds in the 60-meter Dash. In the 1600 meters, Julian Baker finished in seventh place with a personal-record time of four minutes and 33 seconds. Baker also finished in seventh place in the 3200 meters with a personal-record time of nine minutes and 45 seconds.
In the 4×200 relay, the Braves’ team of Keyhea, Kemper Koslofski, Brayden Trimble and Bryson Richardson finished in seventh place with a time of one minute and 35 seconds. In the shot put, Josh England threw a personal-record throw of 14.63 meters earning him a seventh-place finish. In the Pole Vault, Kyle Hensley jumped a 4.40 meter jump for third-place.
On the girls side, Ashleigh Anderson finished in eight-place crossing the line with a personal-record time of one minute and two seconds. In the 800 meters, Braves’ teammates Sofia Munoz and Anderson finished in fourth and seventh place respectively. Munoz finished in fourth-place with a time of two minutes, 25 seconds and .07 of a second. Anderson finished in seventh place with a time of two minutes, 25 seconds and .82 of a second.
In the 1600 meters, Braves’ teammates Renne Ballard and Emma Mallory finished in 13th and 14th place respectively. Ballard finished in 13th place with a time of five minutes and 34 seconds. Mallory finished in 14th place with a time of five minutes and 38 seconds. In the 3200 meters, Hailey Betzer finished in 12th place with a time of 12 minutes and 18 seconds.
In the 4×400 relay, the Braves’ team of Anderson, Munoz, Brooklyn Kondritz and Emma Crowley finished in sixth place with a time of four minutes and 14 seconds. In the 4×800 relay, the Braves’ team of Anderson, Munoz, Mallory and Ballard finished in first-place with a time of nine minutes and 52 seconds.
In the high jump, Braves’ teammates Rhiannon Marshall and Hannah Sago finished in sixth and 10th place respectively. Marshall finished in sixth-place with a jump of 1.55 meters. Sago finished in 10th place with a jump of 1.42 meters.
The Mt. Zion girls track and field team will compete next on April 4 at MacArthur. The Mt. Zion boys track and field team will compete next on April 5 at the Charleston Meet.
