Michael R. Hendrickson

Michael R. Hendrickson, 69, of Atwood, passed away at 9:55 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Hilltop Nursing Center, Charleston, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Kent Conover officiating.

Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mike was born on February 7, 1953 in Tuscola, the son of Cecil and Peggy Leatherman Hendrickson. He married Lou Ellender Switzer on June 3, 2017. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2021.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Hendrickson, Jr. of Mattoon, Tim (Kathy) Hendrickson of Atwood, 2 grandchildren: Cade Hendrickson of Atwood and Oliver Hendrickson of Tuscola, sister: Dottie (Bill) Murry of Tuscola and brother: Preston Hendrickson of Mattoon, step-daughters: Katherine Hansen and Jeanette Cook, step-son: Tim Switzer, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike formerly worked for Alloy Engineering and Casting Company for 37 years and then worked at Plastipak.

He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, golfing and working on vehicles.
