The Mt. Zion 2022 Expo and Taste will be this Saturday from 9:30 a.m . to 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Convention Center.

The Mt. Zion Expo and Taste is returning to its normal month in March after two years of not being in March. Last year’s expo was held on September 11.

“It feels great,” Chamber Administrator Linda Harper said. “You know, things are opening up, and we’re ready for it.”

Harper said that this year’s planning and organizing has been easier to plan and organize since she just did it in September. Harper expects there to be a similar turnout to the last one, but thinks people might be ready to get out and socialize.

This year’s Expo will have the Taste going from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The vendors will be El Corral, Del’s Popcorn of Mt. Zion, Subway, The Kitchen of Doris Yoder and Wildflour. Taste tickets will be five for $7.

The Stage Show will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be a band. The band is Pizzaz.

There will also be two workshops at the Expo. There will be a workshop to discuss the new CEO program at the Mt. Zion high school led by Mt. Zion high school’s principal Justin Johnson which will be at 12 p.m. in a meeting room. The other workshop will be a my home options at 11, 12 and 1.

This year also marks the 35th anniversary of the Mt. Zion Chamber of Commerce. At the Expo there will be a Scott State Bank Expo Game for a chance to win $250. Independence Day 650/50 raffle tickets will also be sold at the chamber desk and the winner will be announced at the Blue Ribbon night on July 3.

The overall message Harper wanted to send to readers and the community is to come out.

“Come visit all the booths and enter all their contests,” Harper said. Enter the Scott State Bank contest to win a chance for $250 and learn what the vendors have to offer. Come have lunch at the taste of Mt. Zion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.”
