Bement Village discusses pool, Woodie resigns

In September the village met with Bryce Jones from Spear Corporation, an aquatic consultant to get an idea of the cost to make repairs to the Bement pool. The pool was built in 1961, and has some severe cracks according to the consultant.
The biggest issue is cost. The repairs could end up costing upwards of $150,000. Mayor Pat Tieman states, “We are starting the process with a structural engineer. I have contacted one and we will start the process after the first of the year. Sounds like we are looking at major problems and could be expensive. I am hopeful we can find a solution that will enable us to keep our pool within the community. The pool is over 60 years old and has provided many great memories to so many. We should know more after the first of the year.”
The Board approved employee bonuses, $250 for full time and $125 for part time.
The board accepted the resignation of Trustee Woodie Dean.
