HOLIDAY GIVING
The Arthur Volunteer Firemen on Saturday, December 18, delivered boxes filled with food, toys, and gift cards to 80 area households. About 58 children 10-years and under received wrapped presents and close to 84 gift cards went to those over 10-years of age. The firemen appreciate the support they receive from the community that makes the food and toy program so successful year after year. Chief Chris Helton said they raised $7,662.00 this year alone from their annual “Fill the Boot” campaign over the two days on Thanksgiving weekend. This year there were four Angel trees placed around town and several monetary donations were also presented to the fire department along with a truckload of toys delivered which helped to make Christmas a little merrier for many families.
