Jazzi Hicks named tournament MVP

Making it’s return this year after the tournament was cancelled last year due to COVID-19, the Mike Walsh Memorial tournament took place in Walsh gym on December 3 and 4.

The four participating teams included CGB, Martinville, Shelbyville, and Uni High. The Broncos opened play Friday evening against Martinville and easily defeated the Bluestreaks by 26 points with a final of 46-20 Saturday morning CGB faced the Illineks from Uni High and held to only 12 points in the game winning 52-12 and advancing to the championship game.

Facing Shelbyville in the final game, the Broncos fell short 28-33 as the Lady Rams win the tournament.

Broncos junior Jazzi Hicks was selected as MVP of the tournament scoring 49 points in the three games.
