Floyd Yoder

Floyd Yoder, 88, of Yoder, Wyoming, left this life to keep on truckin’ in heaven on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021. Floyd will be remembered for his stories and political commentary, and for his love of the open road, rodeos, ice cream and the mountains. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for family July 23, 1933 – October 1, 2021 will be held at a later date in Arthur, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to Goshen County Senior Friendship Center.

Floyd A Yoder was born 23 July 1933 to Lewis A Yoder and Mary Ann J Yoder of Arthur, Illinois, and he passed away on 01 October, 2021 at Yoder, Wyoming.

Floyd married Vera Jane D Stoltzfus 25 June 1960, and they had two children: Cynthia Fern (Mike) Ridenour (living in Yoder, Wyoming) and Carolyn Faye Yoder (Wheeler) Walker (living in Ephrata, PA). 2 Granddaughters Mary Ann Ridenour and Mattie Jane Walker.

Siblings are Reuben (Sarasota FL d. 01/26/2021 mar Edna L Jess, 2 children); John (Arthur IL mar Alta Louise J Lee, 4 children); Joseph (New Holland SC mar Mary R Otto 8 children); Lucy (Sarasota FL d. 03/27/1995 mar Henry A Troyer 3 children); Elva (Goshen IN mar Jane Arlene L Hershberger d. 08/27/2015 4 children); Christian (Arcola IL mar Katie Viola J Mast 1 child); Ella (Arthur IL mar Adlai V Miller 5 children); Monroe (Indianapolis IN mar Erma Louise E Schrock 3 children); and Noah (Arthur IL mar Verna Marie L Miller 1 child).

Floyd’s mother, Mary Ann J Yoder, was a sister to Joseph “Joe” J Yoder (married to Susanna L Miller), and also a sister to Anna J Yoder (married to Menno D Plank). These 4 were former members of Arthur Mennonite Church, Arthur, Illinois.

The old home place is 2 miles south of Arthur, NW corner of intersection (Floyd’s sister Ella lives on home place).
