The Cerro Gordo Bement Broncos cross country teams ran in the Lincoln Prairie Conference race hosted by Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School and held at Lovington Grade School.

The girls took to the three mile course first starting in the rain. Fortunately for the girls, the rain would stop during their run around the three loops of the course.

CGB’s girls finished in fourth place in the team standings with 68 points, behind first place Argenta-Oreana, 35; second place Villa Grove, 53; and third place Cumberland, 54. Overall places and times for the girls were: Gabby Block, 12, 24:14.40; Mariah Corpus, 13, 24:16.35; Trinity Stroisch, 20, 26:13.79; Marley Olson, 23, 29:52.33; and Peyton Lentz, 25, 31:00.2. With some schools not having enough runners for a team score, their scoring places were 8, 9, 15, 17, and 19 for their 68 points.

CGB’s boys had nine runners in the starting box when their race took off at 10:00 a.m. Just like the girls the boys took fourth place scoring 86 points behind first place ALAH, 22; second place Heritage, 68; and third place Cumberland, 86. The Broncos and Cumberland tied with 86 but in cross country a tie is broken by the #6 runner and Cumberland’s sixth runner finished in 27th and CGB’s in 30th. Overall places and times for the boys were Dylan Howell, 3, 16:40.29; Brody Somers, 14, 18:54.89; Evan Fogerson, 20, 19:35.15; Brayden Strack, 28, 20:05.86; Kade Alumbaugh, 29, 20:21.41; Cliff Strack, 36, 21:44.59; Tyce Alumbaugh, 37, 21:45.88; Camren Brown, 41, 23:03.29; and Brenden Puckett, 42, 23:34.48.
