Celebrating Cerro Gordo Homecoming

KING AND QUEEN CANDIDATES. The Cerro Gordo High School Homecoming Queen and King candidates for 2021 have been announced. Pictured are McKenna Robinson and Colin Warren, Makenzie Meinders and Drew Cripe, Sarina Larrick and Trent Cooper, and Kresta Nevius and Cody Layfield. The school bonfire will be held at 7:15 on Thursday, September 23 at the Piatt County Fairgrounds at which time the king and queen will be announced. The CGB Broncos will host the ALAH Knights on Friday night starting at 7 p.m. HOMECOMING ATTENDANTS. Cerro Gordo High School 2021 Homecoming attendants include Freshmen Josie Layfield and Brenden Puckett, Sophomores Haylei Simpson and Daemien Taylor, and Juniors Jacey Young and Romeo Montes. Homecoming week is September 21-25 with the theme being Super Heroes. The parade will step-off at 1:15 on Friday, September 24.

Students will celebrate the week with dress up days and float building.

Thursday, September 23, the school bonfire will be held at 7:15 pm at the Piatt County Fairgrounds.

The king and queen will be announced then. Students will participate in class competition games run by the cheerleaders during the morning of Friday, September 24.

The lineup for the parade will start at 12:15 pm in the front parking lot of the high school with the parade start slated for 1:15 pm.

That evening the football game vs ALAH will start at 7 pm.

The homecoming court will be introduced during the halftime performance.

The homecoming dance will take place Saturday, September 25 from 7 pm to 10 pm in the outdoor classroom area located in the back of the school.
