Knights XC Win At U of I on Tuesday, Sept. 14
The Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Cross Country squad traveled to Urbana on Tuesday, September 14 to run in the annual Uni High Potluck race. Held at the U of I Arboretum, this venue also serves as the cross country course for the U of I teams.
Putting in a workman like effort, the ALAH boys team dominated Uni High and PBL low scoring the race 26/41/69. Logan Beckmier, Jacob Adcock, Jace Green, Lyle Adcock, and Jacob Duzan place 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 respectively to score for the Knights. This was Lyle Adcock’s first race in 2 weeks coming back from injury. Also running for the Knights were Jesus Corona (10th), Connor Edmonds (18th), Nathan Cogdill (22nd), and Caden Binder (29th). Binder took a nasty tumble on the back end of the course and courageously finished.
The girls were again led by Emma Edwards in 11th. She was followed into the finish shute by Maddie Kingery (23), and Lindsay Rohacs (29) as the ladies only had 3 runners available.
After the race, the team enjoyed the potluck meal provided to all contestants by the University High cross country parents group.
