Sunnyside Mennonite Church looking forward to the future

Sunnyside Mennonite Church family.

Jesus said, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And yes, He is certainly doing it. These words of truth will stand throughout eternity and nothing can change them.

Jesus is speaking of a spiritual body, those He has called out and chosen for the glory of His name!

Sunnyside is doing well these days even though we don’t have a (church house) building made with hands.

On March 26 approximately 2:20 am, we got a call that the church house was on fire. The building was totally destroyed by the fire which appears to have started by lightning.

We had a ground breaking ceremony on July the 25th for the new building. The concrete work is almost complete as I write this. In a few weeks, you should be seeing a new structure and lots of activity on the site. God is good and we are praising Him for His provision and direction. We are blessed and grateful to live in a community that gives and pulls together.

As a church, we thank all the people who have contributed to this cause. Many individuals, churches, businesses, firemen, and Arthur Christian School have given so graciously and freely. We look forward to the future with great anticipation and excitement, believing that God is up to something good.

We also look forward to having our own building again, and believing many will find God. As Jesus taught us to pray, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
