DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT…….

After being cancelled in 2020 and postponed this year on June 26 and then again the next day as well due to heavy rains and windy weather, the Arthur Rotary Club fireworks went off with a bang Saturday, July 31. Rain earlier in the day along with cooler temperatures did not keep the crowd away as they packed Jurgens Park and the outlying area and lined country roads surrounding Arthur for several miles. Vendors opened at 4 p.m. and Captain Rat and the Blind Rivets, sponsored by Crossman Law Office, Dicks Pharmacy, Graham Vet Clinic, and McGuire, Yuhas, Huffman, & Buckley, entertained the crowd from 6-9 p.m. Rotary members and volunteers along with the A.L.A.H. queens Kinsley Eads and Emma Lee (Molly Appleby not pictured) walked throughout the grounds with donations buckets prior to the fireworks show starting at 9:30 and lasting almost 30 minutes. Arthur Rotary Club Fireworks Chairman John Stewart added, “The fireworks were fantastic! I dont know if that’s because we had to wait a year plus or they really were the best yet. Thanks for all of our vendors sticking with us. Captain Rat and the Blind Rivets were a super addition. Thank you to Maleah Roberts for singing the National Anthem, the ALAH band, Fine Arts Boosters, and Boy Scout Troop 74 made short work of the trash clean-up. We couldn’t do the show without so much community support. We appreciate everyone who came and enjoyed the fireworks as much as we enjoyed being able to provide them again! The Arthur Rotary Club is looking forward to another great show next year!”
