A-H Public Library establishes Wi-Fi Hotspot lending program

The Atwood-Hammond Public Library (A-HPLD) has established a Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot lending program to help bridge the digital gap in our community. A Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot is a device you can use to connect a mobile-enhanced device, such as a laptop, smart phone, or tablet, to the internet.

Mobile Wi-Fi hotspots will be available for check-out to A-HPLD cardholders 18 years of age and older, in good standing (no fines or overdue items).

The Library is not responsible for any liability, damages or expenses resulting from use or misuse of the device, connection of the device to other electronic devices, or data loss resulting from use of the Mobile Hotspot. Any use of the device for illegal purposes, unauthorized copying of copyright-protected material in any format, or transmission of threatening, harassing, defamatory or obscene materials is strictly prohibited.

Checkouts are limited to one per household at any given time. Mobile Hotspots are checked out for seven (7) days and cannot be renewed. Once a Mobile Hot is checked out to a patron, it becomes the responsibility of that patron. The library reserves the right to refuse service due to patrons who abuse equipment.

The Mobile Hotspot Wi-Fi will end within 24 hours after the due date. The over-due cost for a Mobile Hotspot is $10.00 per day up to the total cost of the item. If the item is not returned, the borrower will be charged a $100 replacement cost. Roaming charges will be added to the borrower’s account if applicable.

The Library has 3 Mobile Hotspots available for checkout. Patrons must agree to the loan policy and sign an agreement at checkout. The Mobile Hotspots are loaned with a charger and zippered carrying case.
