CGB Broncos Boys Track Team Winds Up 2021 Season at Sectional

The Cerro Gordo Bement boys’ track and field team competed at the I.H.S.A. Sectional meet hosted by Tuscola on Friday, June 4. The Broncos finished in fourteenth place with six points.
Freshman distance runner, Dylan Howell earned the highest finish for the Broncos, a fourth place in the 3200 meter run in a time of 11:07.16. Dylan also ran the 1600 meters with a time of 5:11.74. Scoring sixth place points for CGB were Thomas Pierceall with a throw of 11.69 meters in the shot put and Chance Young jumping 1.80 meters in the high jump which was a PR for him.
Other competitors for the orange and blue were Sam Dalton, 100m, (13.61); Cole Stoerger, 200m, (27.94); 400 meters, Evan Fogerson, (1:01.57) and Cameron Brown, (1:06.51); Luke Dobson, 800m, (2:20.12); John Freese, 800m, (2:36.07) and 1600m, (5:40.77); Blaine Burns, shot put, (8.96m); discus, Aiden Shonkwiler, (29.00m PR), and Xander Hutchcraft, (27.72m); and the 4 X 4 relay team of Luke Dobson, Evan Fogerson, Jared Lents, and Chance Young who ran a time of 4:13.99.
