Piatt County Fair 2021 June 17-20 in Cerro Gordo

The Piatt County Fair is coming soon! It will be held June 17 – 20. Thursday evening our vendors will be open and so will the beer barn. General exhibits (non-livestock) which include 7 years and Under, Juniors, and Adults, come in between 5 and 6 o’clock that evening. Flowers will be judged after exhibits are placed. Judging for all other departments will be Friday morning. Also on Thursday night, dairy cattle are to be in place. Exhibits must be entered ahead of time. Forms are on our web site. Even though the deadline is passed, if you can get your entries to Carol Kussart, 217-855-3258, by Friday, June 11, they will be accepted.

Friday morning, June 18, is the Dairy Cattle Show. Our annual ITPA sanctioned tractor pull is that evening at 6:30 p.m. Friday night’s band is Antics, a local favorite. Also on Friday evening, Capitol City Cornhole will have a “blind draw” tournament. The swine are to be in place that night.

Saturday morning is busy with the Swine Show, the Cerro Gordo Preschool Kickball Tournament, the Cheerleading Clinic finale, and a Co-ed Bags tournament. Saturday afternoon is another bags tournament: Doubles. Beef cattle come in Saturday evening. We are excited to have Eric Burgett from Latham, a Nashville performer, in the Beer Barn Saturday night. We hope many people will come out to support him. There will be a special family section marked off so children will be able to stay and see Eric perform.

Also at the Fair, the Piatt County Outlaw Hookers Antique Tractor Pull will be on the track on Sunday, June 20, starting at 11:00. The Beef Cattle Show is that morning, and, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. we will have a Craft and Flea Market. We anticipate a number of vendors for this Market which is a new Sunday event for us. We hope many people will come see what they have to offer.

Gun raffle tickets will be sold throughout the Fair, and the winner will be drawn during the Antique Pull. We will also be auctioning or raffling off a tractor riding toy, donated by the Hammond Fire Department in memory of Bob Day.

Our usual vendors will be at the Fair, so come enjoy the exhibits, animals, and entertainment. We are confident we can maintain social distancing and safety at these outdoor events.
