Paul R. Mast
Paul R. Mast, 81, of Arthur, died at 5:33 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Accolade Healthcare Center, Pontiac, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Arthur Mennonite Church with Rev. Glen Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Paul was born July 22, 1939 in Arthur, the son of Rudy and Sovilla Troyer Mast. He married Mary Fansler on June 4, 1966; she preceded him in death on September 4, 2002.
Survivors include 3 sons, Tim Mast and Chris Mast of Arthur, Doug Mast of Romeoville; 2 sisters, Clara (Wayne) King of Hesston, Kansas; Mary Litzinger of Columbia, S. Carolina; brother, Freeman (Suzy) Mast of Dublin, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie Mast and Allyson Mast of Arcola; 2 great grandchildren, Quinton Mast and Devyn Wells; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Daniel Mast and a stillborn; 2 sisters, Sara Litwiller, Edna Hochstedler, and 3 brothers-in-law.
Paul was a member of the Arthur Mennonite Church. He worked at the Arthur Cheese Company for 22 years and then Riverside Door Company until retiring. He also operated a taxi service for the Amish.
Paul was a St. Louis Cardinal Fan and was “dawdy” to his great grandchildren.
