Frances Arlene Dudley and Robert Doyle Dudley
Frances Arlene Dudley, 83, of Arthur, passed away May 16, 2021, at the Arthur Home after battling cancer. Robert Doyle Dudley, 84, passed away May 17, 2021, at the Arthur Home after battling leukemia and cancer.
Fran was born to Willis “Ansel” and Marie Howard July 28, 1937, in Sullivan. Fran worked at the University of Illinois as a secretary, Kraft Foods, and Carle Clinic in Mattoon.
Robert was born to Robert and Ruby Dudley May 12, 1937, in Sullivan. Robert retired from PPG in Mt. Zion. He was a kindergarten aide at Arthur Grade School. They both volunteered at the Arthur Home and Mt. Pulaski Grade School.
Robert and Fran were married June 26, 1983, at First Christian Church in Sullivan and celebrated 37 years together. They enjoyed time with their grandchildren and were lifelong Cubs fans.
They were preceded in death by her parents Willis “Ansel” and Marie Howard, his parents Robert and Ruby Dudley, daughter Cathy (Wirth) Foster, sisters Evelyn (Howard) Kidwell, Myrtie (Howard) Barnes, Joy (Dudley) Maycroft, and brother Dale Dudley.
Surviving are the mother of his children, Dyanne Dudley, and children Brad Dudley (Peoria), Lanette (Dudley) Simpson (Florida), and Eric Dudley (Decatur), Lesa Wirth (Arizona), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial at First Christian Church in Sullivan will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialist of Illinois, Charitable Donation, 210 West McKinley Ave. Suite 1 in Decatur, IL 62526.
