ALAH High School Track and Field at Cumberland

On May 7, the Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond track and field teams traveled to Cumberland High School for a triangular meet with the host school and Villa Grove.

The girls’ team took second with 41 points behind Villa Grove (58) and ahead of Cumberland (12).

Winning events for the girls were: Alexa Miller with three individual firsts in the long jump (15’ 6”), the 100m (13.15), 200m (27.91) and she anchored the victorious 400 meter relay (57.87). The other members of that relay were Kaitlyn Zander, Miah Malin, and Sarah Rafferty. Sarah

Rafferty crossed the finish line first in the 800m (2:48.47) and took second in the 200m (31.15). The other first place finisher was Emma Edwards taking the 400m in 1:09.75.

Other scorers were Makayla Harshbarger, shot put (2), (27’ 9”) and discus (4) (80’ 1”); Brooke Clark, discus (2) (103’ 5”) and Miah Malin, (4) long jump (12’ 4”).

Other competitors on the girls’ team were: Sarah Rogers, shot (24’ 11”) and discus (42’ 7”); Emma Jones, 100m (15.32) and 200m (35.24) and Kaitlyn Zander, 100m (15.4).

Unfortunately complete results including times and distances were unavailable for the boys’ team.

These are the unofficial placing results: the 3200 meter relay of Logan Beckmier, Austin Plank, Jacob Duzan and Jace Green finished first.

In the 3200 meter race, the order of finish was Layton Hall, Lyle Adcock and Jacob Adcock.

Drew Cotton, Jayden Chupp, Keegan Ashenfelter and Zach Massey took first in the 400 meter relay.

In the 400 meters, Reggie Edmonds was second and Zach Massey was fourth.

Aaron Likens won the 300 meter hurdles.

Taking first, second and third in the 1600 meter run was Logan Beckmier, Jace Green, and Lyle Adcock. Aaron Likens, Jacob Duzan, Mason Allen and Reggie Edmonds ran the 4 X 4 relay and finished second.

Other competitors for the boys were: shot put: Jack Martin and Keegan Ashenfelter; Discus: Martin, Ashenfelter and Austin Abercrombie; 100 meters: Zach Massey, Jayden Chupp, Jacob Vitale, and Drew Cotton; 800 meters: Jesus Corona; 1600 m: Jacob Adcock and Connor Edmonds; and 200m: Finn Davison, and Max and Mason Allen.

The Knights were in Sullivan on Friday, May 14 for a quadrangular meet and were scheduled to have a home meet on Tuesday, May 18. On May 21, the girls travel to Unity and the boys to Warrensburg for meets.
