Brown Shuts Out Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg for the ALAH victory
Senior Makenzie Brown did not allow a single run against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights Varsity to a 3-0 victory on the road Monday.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Brown struck out 20, while Bean sat down seven.
In the first inning, ALAH got their offense started scoring one run when Brown doubled.
Brown was the winning pitcher for the Knights as she went seven innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out 20.
Bean took the loss for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg allowing four hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out seven.
Brown went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond in hits. The Knights were sure handed in the field and did not commit a single error. Charley Condill had the most chances in the field with 20.
Games scheduled last week for Tuesday, May 4 against Oakwood and Wednesday, May 5 against Mahomet-Seymour were cancelled due to weather.
