Arthur Community VBS Committee announces upcoming 2021 VBS

The Arthur Community VBS Committee is excited to announce the upcoming 2021 VBS set for Monday, June 14 – Saturday, June 19 from 9am-noon each day at the Arthur Mennonite Church.

Children are invited to suit up and spend a day learning how to put on the armor of God.

This year’s theme, Knights of the North Castle, focuses on Ephesians 6:10 which says, “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His power.”

In addition, the VBS Committee is asking the community to help support the Sunnyside Mennonite Church by raising funds through the 2021 VBS Mission Project. Online donations can be made anytime at www.arthurvbs.org. All donations will be given to help support the church after their devastating fire. The Jr. High will also be doing a service project on Friday and Saturday to help support Sunnyside Mennonite Church.

Important changes to note: children will come for ONE DAY ONLY and daily attendance is based on the grade they just completed in May.

Monday – Kindergarten & 1st Grade; Tuesday – 2nd & 3rd Grade; Wednesday – 4th Grade; Thursday – 5th Grade. Children 6th-8th Grade will have the option of attending on Friday OR Saturday for the service project.

Children who have not yet completed Kindergarten will not be able to attend this year.

Everyone who attends will be required to follow the same safety guidelines that have been in place at school.

Masks will be required (inside the building only) and social distancing will be practiced, unless IL guidelines change before the first day.

Watch for important announcements and more details to come on the Arthur Community VBS Facebook Page.

The churches involved are committed to bringing the message of God’s love to the community while keeping everyone’s safety as a top priority.

The churches involved (Arthur Mennonite, Arthur United Methodist, Vine Street Christian, and First Baptist) want to thank the committee for all of their hard work to provide this important community event and also thank the community for their continued prayers and support.

Online registration will be open May 1 – June 1. For more information, or if you have questions, please reach out to the churches listed above, or contact Erica Schrock at 217-259-1230.
