Clarence Wayne Cothron

Clarence Wayne Cothron, 79, of Atwood, passed away at 9:33 p.m., Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Mattoon, IL

Private family services will be held. Burial with military graveside rites accorded will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL.

Wayne was born on May 31, 1941 in Louisiana, MO, the son of Giles Franklin and Ida Mackey Cothron. He married Ruth Ann Kamm on November 6, 1960 in Atwood, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his sons: Giles Franklin Cothron of Byron, GA and Jacob Allen Cothron of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren: Brittney, Christopher and Holly, brother: Marion Cothron of Tuscola.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son: Phillip Wayne Cothron, infant daughter: Darla Sue Cothron, brother: Richard Cothron and an infant sister.

Wayne served his country in the United State Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He retired from Cabot Corporation, where he worked in the maintenance department. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge.

Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warriors Project, Douglas County Animal Shelter or United Church of Atwood.
