Michael Ray “Mike” Harris

Michael Ray “Mike” Harris, 54 of Mt. Zion died 2:10 am. Friday, March 12, 2021 in Prairie Creek Nursing Home in Decatur.

A family led celebration of life will be held at the Annex behind the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church (345 W. Main Street, Mt. Zion, IL. 62549) from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Saturday, March 20, 2021. Memorials may be made to Hospice or the donor’s choice. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting with the arrangements.

Mike was born September 27, 1966 in St. Mary’s Hospital Decatur, IL., son of Larry and Betty Harris. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School and Pittsburgh State University Kansas, and Richland Community College. Mike work in HVAC, Electrical and maintenance. He was a proud member of the UAW Local 751 thru Caterpillar. Mike was a joy to be around. He enjoyed family get togethers, cookouts, fireworks, riding his motorcycle and classic rock music.

Surviving is his parents, Larry and Betty Harris of Mt. Zion, children, Corey Harris, Braden Harris, Alyssa Harris, Allyson (Shawn) Galvin, stepsons, Jason (Anna) Hanes, Jacob and fiancée Selena Smail.

Mike was preceded in death by his sister Mindy Harris Morse.
