Austen was born on February 23, 2000 in Decatur, son of Heather E Austen. He was only 21 when God made the decision to have him come home. He was so funny, always had a smile on his face. He had something special about him; he could become friends with anyone. He just made people feel comfortable around him. Everyone was always laughing around him. He had so many friends- a real jokester. Austen leaves behind Megan, the love of his life, and his princess, Serenity. They were his life. He was a wonderful father and man. He took care of his family. He was the baby of our family. Us sisters are always arguing about something, but we all came together for Austen. He was our common ground. You will never be forgotten, loved always, and missed every day. He will forever be a hero!

Austen is survived by Megan Winskill, the love of his life, precious daughter, Serenity Elaine Marie, both of Hammond, mama, Heather Austen of Cerro Gordo, maternal grandmother- Sharon Austen of Gonvick, MN, brothers and sisters- Patricia Beery (Gary Wade) of Decatur, Kalee Shingleton (Oscar) of Decatur, Alyssa Huffman (Caleb Irvin) of Lovington, Mycah Carter (Justin Embrey) of Mt. Zion. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Austen was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather- Rev. Gordon Austen and paternal grandparents- Charlie (Dingle) and Donna Huffman.
