Arthur Woman’s Club Announces Changes in Scholarship Program And Availability of Scholarship Applications for Graduating Seniors

The Arthur Woman’s Club educational scholarship program will undergo some changes for 2021 and future years.

Due to Covid-19, many of the Arthur Woman’s Club’s major fund-raising events had to be cancelled in 2020, resulting in a decreased amount of funds available to be used for scholarships. In addition, over the past several years there has been a substantial increase in the number of graduating Seniors in the Arthur School District. For those reasons, Arthur Woman’s Club will no longer be awarding scholarships to graduates of previous years and will only award scholarships to Seniors graduating from Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond (ALAH) High School in the current year.

In addition, scholarship winners will be required to provide proof of enrollment in A MINIMUM OF 12 CREDIT HOURS at a college, university, or other institute of higher learning before receiving their monetary award.

Any interested graduating Senior may pick up an application at the ALAH High School Guidance Counselor’s office beginning Monday, February 8, 2021. Applications will also be available on the Arthur CUSD #305 website.

Applications must be returned to the ALAH High School Guidance Counselor’s office no later than Friday, April 2, 2021. If you have questions, please contact the Guidance Counselor’s office at 217-543-2146 or Arthur Woman’s Club Education Committee chairperson Sandy Smith at 217-543-3264.
