Michael R. Vannoy

Michael R. Vannoy 69, of Mt. Zion, passed away at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021, in his residence.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with services. Memorials may be made in Michael’s memory to the Mt. Zion Assembly of God Church. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at dawson-wikoff.com.

Michael was born June 30, 1951, in Alton, IL the son of Arvil and Ruth (Wesley) Vannoy. He retired in 2016, as the Park Ranger of Spitler Woods State Natural Area Park, in Mt. Zion, IL after forty-five years of service. Michael was a member of the Mt. Zion Assembly of God Church and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. His greatest passion was his family. Michael married Anna M. Wulf in 1990.

Surviving is his wife: Anna of Mt. Zion; children: Linda Hobbs, Tim Vannoy, Chris Wulf (Kathy), Della Baker and Crystal Hernandez (Ever); sister-in-law: Tiny Vannoy; seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Marsha Underwood, and his brother: Bob Vannoy.
