Florine Mae Yoder

Florine Mae Yoder, 90, Goshen, Indiana, died 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Courtyard Healthcare. She was born March 14, 1930 in Kidron, Ohio, to Sylvester & Martha (Bixler) Lehman. On June 2, 1956, in Ohio, she married Lester A. Yoder and he died Dec. 20, 2018.

Surviving are 4 sons, Keith (Linda) Yoder, Goshen, Bruce (Lauri) Yoder, Middlebury, Doug (Stacy) Yoder, Middlebury, Jay (Joy) Yoder, Charlotte, North Carolina, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, siblings, Ruth (Roy) Bontrager, Ohio, Larry Lehman, Colorado, Don (Ruth) Lehman, Kidron, Ohio, Jenelle (Jerry) Gould, Houston, Texas, Carol (Ed) Burkholder, Goshen, Geri Mumaw, Elkhart and Beth (Dave) Wiebe, Colorado.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Lester, daughter, Melody Slabach, grandson, Michael Yoder, brothers, David, Merlin & Elton Lehman and a sister, Doris Cartwright.

Florine was a homemaker and worked as a cook at Elkhart General Hospital and Goshen College. She provided foster care and was a schoolteacher for several years. Florine was a member, played piano and was very involved with Sunnyside Mennonite Church. She loved to quilt for her children and grandchildren. She baked cinnamon rolls for the 4-H Fair. Florine loved to garden, can food and was a great seamstress.

A private family service will be livestreamed 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2020, through the funeral home website, www.rrefh.com. Go to Florine’s tribute pages and click on photos and videos. Pastor Amy Kratzer will officiate and burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be directed to Sunnyside Mennonite Church. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
