Ramiro Guadiana Sr.

Ramiro Guadiana Sr., 83, of Arcola, IL passed away at 9:45 P.M. on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Private family funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Father Angel Sierra will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery.

Ramiro was born on August 1, 1937 in Cadereyta Jiménez, Nuevo León, Mexico. He was a son of Manuel and Juana (Galindo) Guadiana. He married Elvia Medina on January 28, 1959 in Cadereyta, Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Elvia of Arcola, IL, five children, Arcelida Guadiana-Rios and her husband Juan, Ramiro Guadiana Jr. and his wife Maria Dolores, Argelia Guadiana-Becerra and her husband Jose Nicolas, Manuel Guadiana and Maria Isabel Guadiana-Ruiz and her husband Alfonzo, all of Arcola, IL, 19 grandchildren, Manuel Guadiana-Becerra, Erik Guadiana and his wife Sandra, Elvia Guadiana, Jose Juan Rios and his wife Rehann, Patricia Rios and her husband Nate Eikenberry, Alexis Rios, Jose N. Becerra Jr. and his wife Emily, Erika Becerra-Ashby and her husband Armand, Karina Becerra and her fiancé Miguel Zendeja, Karla Becerra, Christina Wiese and her husband Daryl, Jessica Sprouls and her husband Casey, Tania Guadiana, Ruben Guadiana, Marco Guadiana, Fransico Cavazos, Adriana Ruiz, Jessica Ruiz and Hector Ruiz, 13 great-grandchildren, Liam and Alayna Guadiana, Bryson Bradon and Bryaauna Hudson, Quentin, Rylee and Audree Rios, Anna and Evan Becerra, Scarlett and Parker Sprouls and Kayla A. Cavazos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Maria de Guadiana Mendoza and one half-brother, Santos Guadiana.

Ramiro was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Masonic Lodge in Cadereyta, Mexico

Ramiro had been a broom maker for the Libman Company in Arcola for 47 years, retiring in 2018.
