State Representatives Hold Town Hall Forum. Speaking before a packed room of voters on Monday, October 5, five Illinois state representatives held an informational meeting to help educate people on the Progressive Income Tax Amendment which appears on the November 3 ballot. The proposed Constitutional Amendment would repeal the current 4.95% tax rate for all taxpayers and give the Legislature authority to initially impose six new income tax brackets if passed by Illinois voters.
