Golfers gather in preparation for tee off at the annual alumni golf outing.
Although none of the other Homecoming activities took place this past weekend, a group of alumni decided to go ahead with the annual alumni golf outing on Saturday, October 3 at Kaskaskia Country Club.
Sixty golfers comprised 15 teams to help benefit the sports booster club at Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School.
Organizers were Jason Yeakel and Shelly Brough (AHS ‘91), Matthew McCarthy (AHS 2000) with the help of Tiffany Carman Yeakel (Mattoon High School ‘94).
Following a prayer by Glen Rhodes of the Arthur Mennonite Church, the outing teed off at 10:30 a.m.
Midway through the day participants were treated to a delicious lunch of pork loin sandwiches and brats.
The top team with a final score of 15 under consisted of Nelson Herschberger, Daren Herschberger (AHS ‘05), Derrick Herschberger (AHS ‘08) and Kollin Seaman, Arcola.
The Alumni Association and Sports Boosters greatly appreciate the effort and congratulate everyone on a successful outing.
A special thanks to the staff and members of the Kaskaskia Country club for allowing us the use of the course for the day. Go Knights!
