Block and Fuson wins Cerro Gordo Jr. High cross country meet

Cerro Gordo hosted a dual meet on Monday, September 21 with Bement.

Bulldog’s Gabby Block won the girls race with a time of 15:37 and Will Fuson placed 1st in the boys meet with a time of 12:35.

For Cerro Gordo Jillian Durbin came in 2nd with a time of 15:41 followed by Mariah Corpus in 3rd finishing at 15:58, Jazlyn Howell with a time of 16:17 placed 4th, and Marissa Gentry came in 6th at 17:15.

Addie Roberts placed 5th finishing at 17:08 and Cassie Block came in 7th with a time of 19:03 for Bement.

For the boys Caleb Weaver of Cerro Gordo ran a 12:51 for 2nd place.

Bement’s Brayden Strack, John Paul Brewer, Brayden, Cliff Strack, Tyce Alumbaugh Brody Somers, Joe Schum, and Kole Somers finished 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th respectively with times of 12:53,13:26, 13:40, 14:04, 14:22, 14:37, and 14:50. Collin Kendall finished 17th with a time of 18:36.

Cerro Gordo boys Mark Aubert, Coleton Barger, Ian Hawk, Eli Corpus, Michael Freese, Brenden Puckett, and Jack Hertz placed 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th with times of 14:54, 15:57, 16:04, 16:23,17:06, 17:29, and 17:58.

Bement placed 1st with 19 points while Cerro Gordo had 48 points.
