The Great Pumpkin Patch and The Homestead Baker will still offer many fall favorites
Arthur, IL – September 8, 2020 – The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, IL will look decidedly different this Fall.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and a sense of responsibility to customers, staff, family, friends and community, the event and outdoor recreation side of the farm will not be open. It was a difficult decision to alter the experience many know and love, but rest assured, The Great Pumpkin Patch and The Homestead Bakery will still offer many fall favorites.
The mission of The Great Pumpkin Patch has always been to provide a safe place for everyone to experience the harvest season. This year a new experience, called the Cucurbit Market, has been created to offer produce and mums to shoppers. Located on the east side of The Homestead Bakery, this market area will be almost 2 acres in size and have plenty of room for social distancing. Here you can get all the pumpkins, squash, gourds, and mums you’ve come to expect. The Great Pumpkin Patch side of the farm will not be open to visitors. Due to Covid-19 guidelines, there will be no mazes or wagon rides, no indoor retail spaces or concessions, no animals or displays. The Cucurbit Market will feature the wide variety of pumpkins, squash and gourds The Great Pumpkin Patch has long been known for. Over 5,000 mums, grown on-site, will also be available. This new market will be your shopping destination for all your fall decor, culinary favorites and all sizes of orange pumpkins. These changes are temporary, and owners Ginny and Mac Condill are already planning for the 2021 pumpkin season to be better than ever!
The Homestead Bakery will have their full line-up of Amish baked goods available on their porch. This open-air sidewalk store will feature all the baked goodness you have come to love, including pumpkin cookies, cinnamon rolls, angel food cakes, cookies, breads and iced cutout cookies. Your pumpkin patch fall favorites, including apple cider slush, fudge and pumpkin ice cream, will also be available on the bakery porch.
