Don was born August 29, 1950 in Tuscola, the son of James M. and Margaret Grant Dukeman. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years. He received a Purple Heart for his tour in Vietnam. After his years in the service, he became a law enforcement officer in surrounding areas.
Survivors include his daughter, Stacy Dukeman of Belleville; son, Chris (Heather) Dukeman of Saint Joseph; brother, Jim (Sandy) Dukeman of Apex, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Patti Dukeman of Decatur; grandson, Taylor Dukeman of Belleville; and granddaughters, Hailey and Hannah Dukeman of Saint Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terri Dukeman. Donald’s family was a large piece of his life. His friends always mention that he could never stop talking about how proud he was of his children and grandchildren.
Don was an avid baseball fan. He was the Los Angeles Dodger’s biggest fan—he had owned numerous amounts of fan wear and décor that showed his love for them. Other than collecting Dodger’s gear, Don also enjoyed collecting glass China and antiques for his house.
